Once again Elena came face to face with Evilaric as Esther explained her dastardly plan to rid the earth of all vampires by turning Alaric into the Ultimate Original Vampire. Despite my reservations about the plot, Matt Davis has truly shone in the role of Alaric this season. He conveys so much menace and evil in his facial expressions it is truly outstanding.
In season two of The Vampire Diaries, An Original Vampire, Klaus, wants to use her and Elena in a sacrifice to break an ancient curse. Despite Alex's and her friends' best efforts, the sacrifice takes place. She also learns about a thousand year old prophecy. Klaus fed Alex his blood, not knowing she already had vampire blood in her system making her the first Tribrid to walk the earth.
In season three of The Vampire Diaries, Alex is coping with the fact that everyone she loves dies and she couldn't do anything about it. She also learns how to be a vampire with the help of Klaus and his other sister, Rebekah Mikaelson. During the summertime Alex has started developing some feelings for the Original Hybrid and become very good friends with Rebekah and her other brothers Elijah and Kol Mikaelson.
After Jeremy's death in season four of The Vampire Diaries, Alex did black magic to try and bring her brother back to life, but it back fired turning her into her dark self. Weeks went by as she fooled her friends that she was back to her old self but she was planning something evil. When torturing Damon, Theo, and Elena, Stefan came up behind her and made her inhale herbs that knocked her out. Stefan went inside her head and made the good Alex fight her dark self, telling her that being strong doesn't mean being evil.
In season three of The Originals, Davina Claire sends a message to Alex through magic and offers a deal. Alex agrees to the deal so that her pack wasn't stuck in wolf form. Alex tells Klaus that she'll never forgive him for this but later in the series, she forgives him because she couldn't stay mad at him. In the middle of the season Alex's cousin-in-law, Jackson dies by his heart ripped out right in front of her and Hayley by a 1,000-year-old vampire named Tristan de Martel. In the season finale, Alex has to look for cures for the Mikaelson family so that she can heal them and wake them. She also leaves New Orleans and goes back to Mystic Falls.
Elena as a newly turned vampire wears a small lapis lazuli daylight ring made by Bonnie in order to protect her from the sunlight. Elena has a slightly more sophisticated look and trades her usual jeans and t-shirts to dresses and boots. Since Elena now has the freedom to accessorize, she dips into her jewelry box more often. Elena is seen wearing more chain necklaces in season 4. After she abandons her humanity, she becomes more womanly in the way she looks. She gets red streaks in her hair and curls it. She also begins to wear skirts and belts. When Katherine possessed Elena, she removed the red streaks.
Alaric is Elena's step father and guardian. They became close when Alaric started dating her aunt Jenna. Alaric was also her history tutor. Alaric taught Elena how to protect herself from vampires and how to fight. Alaric became the legal guardian of Elena when her aunt Jenna was killed by Klaus. As Elena didn't have much family left, Alaric was there for her and Jeremy. Alaric along with Damon, protected Elena from the dangers that surrounded them. Elena was devastated when Esther turned Alaric into an Original resulting into him not completing the transition. But Esther took control of Bonnie and made her feed him her blood so that the transition would complete. Alaric then took Elena hostage so he could lead Klaus there to kill him. Elena realized that their lives are connected meaning if she dies, he dies. The moment Elena had died, Alaric died in Damon's arms and Elena came back as a vampire. During season four, she had mourned him and amends were then made. She was reunited with him when he was brought back to life in the Season Five finale, due to Damon and Bonnie's sacrifices. 59ce067264
